 Construction Inspector Minimize

The City of Fort is currently accepting applications for the position of Construction Inspector.  This position under the Construction Coordinator oversees the contractors of the City's CIP and subdivision projects making sure the work is done in a satisfactory and timely manner.  Also, assures the work performed is in conformance with the City's plans and specifications.

Requirements include; High school diploma with courses in math, algebra and geometry.  Minimum of three years technical engineering experience or a combination of college and work experience is required.  Experience should include surveying, drafting and construction inspections as well as interpretation of plans/specifications.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required.

Salary:  $16.15/hr - with excellent benefits.

 Heavy Equipment Mechanic II Minimize

The City of Fort Smith is currently accepting applications for the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic in the Department of Sanitation. The Mechanic under the supervision of the Fleet and Grounds Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performing highly skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of diversified heavy, earthmoving, construction equipment, automotive trucks and automated side loaders, front loaders, roll offs and rear loader trucks. Work involves the performance of highly skilled tasks in mechanical maintenance, repair and servicing of a wide variety of conventional and specialized equipment and the major repair of both gasoline and diesel powered combustion engines.

Requirements include: High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by Automotive Mechanic course work. A minimum of five years experience as a certified heavy equipment mechanic. Technical or trade school training or degree is preferred.

Salary: $14.08/hr minimum - $19.94/hr maximum plus excellent benefits.
